Hello voters -- past, present, and future!
Welcome to the Direct Democracy Global Network!
The network's purpose: Empowering voters worldwide to democratically determine legislative priorities, and who runs for office, who gets elected, and what laws are passed.
The network's two-fold inspiration: Switzerland's centuries-old Direct Democracy in which Swiss citizens are politically sovereign, and world-renowned Geneva philosopher, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, whose treatises defined conditions for exercising popular sovereignty and preserving it.
The goal of the 21st century Direct Democracy Global Network: Provide voters beyond Switzerland online tools for using similar direct democracy practices as the Swiss use today.
When the network is fully operational, they will be able to create accounts and profiles, and use network tools provided free of charge to connect and collaborate online, and dialogue, debate, and build consensus to bridge partisan divides and prevent stalemates.
They can set priorities and common legislative agendas, and take action to implement them. They can vote on proposals to create life-saving common agendas -- such as laws and policies halting life-threatening climate change.
Strategically, voters can democratically build and manage online voting blocs, political parties, and electoral coalitions, which reach across election districts, regions, and nation-states to elect representatives to enact voters' agendas.
Below are 10 steps providing tips on how voters might wish to proceed, in any order they choose.
In addition, the influence-expanding opportunities the network will provide voters are listed below.
